An alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Col. Shailesh Shringarpure was commissioned into the Infantry of the Indian Army in June 1990.

During his distinguished service spanning over three decades, he served in field and highly active areas across the country. He has extensive operational experience and participated in counter-terrorist operations in Kashmir, Assam, and Punjab. He also had the privilege of commanding an Infantry Battalion on the Line of Control in the Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield in the world.

In addition, he commanded a Military Police Unit and headed the Discipline and Vigilance Department, where he handled high-level inquiries, legal matters, and investigations.

For his immense contribution in active operations and his dedication to service, he has been awarded by the Chiefs of Army Staff and General Officers Commanding-in-Chief on four occasions.

His actions in operations have also been featured in two books — Team 14 into Battle in English and Olakh Siachenchi in Marathi.

His educational qualifications include B.Com, M.A. in Psychology, LL.B., Diploma in Labour Laws & Labour Welfare, and Diploma in Human Rights & International Relations.

Col. Shringarpure is a Qualified Personality Assessor certified by the Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), DRDO, Delhi. During his three tenures as Group Testing Officer (GTO) at various Services Selection Boards, he has assessed more than 10,000 candidates for their suitability to join the Indian Armed Forces.

He has vast experience in guiding and mentoring youth and service entry personnel to transform their personality and work towards achieving their goal of joining the Armed Forces as Officers. He has also trained other officers to become assessors and has led teams of assessors in various forums at the All India level.
