Various Questions Asked In SSB Interview from the potential candidates to assess if they have the dedication and ability to join the force. The officer who conducts the interview expects good answers from the candidate as the questions asked are quite common. It is best if you are able to prepare for the one-on-one interview before attending it.

You will be asked basic questions and the replies given would be noted down and checked to ensure that you have been truthful throughout the interview. When questioned, think wisely before answering and be honest with your answers.  It is best if you have prepared in advance so that you would not be taken aback in the interview.

SSB Interview Questions

  1. Introduction Question

These questions are asked at the beginning so that the candidate feels at ease. Since these are introductory questions, the candidate has to find it quite easy to answer them. Furthermore, you should know that these questions play the main role, in knowing the quality of the candidate.

The questions which are asked under this include:

  • Your name, meaning, why you are named as such and something unique about your name.
  • The geographical location you are from and something unique about the place.

  1. Usual Questions

This question takes most of the time, of the interview and holds two parts: stress interview and rapid-fire questions.

  • Stress Interview:

Twisted questions will be asked in the same area to identify if the candidate loses temper or originality under stressful situations. They will also assess if you are good when it comes to decision making and finding the solution. Furthermore, in order to intimidate you questions which aren’t under your background or stream will be asked to watch your reaction to stressful situations.

Under this situation, you should not break your ground, but keep smiling and try your level best to answer the question and show your knowledge.

  • Rapid Fire :

Around 10-15 questions will be asked at a stretch to check the honesty and the observing quality of the candidate. The questions under this category will range from

  • Views of your parents and teachers
  • Friend of yours and your view of him/her

Through the questions regarding your extracurricular activities or how you organize a task, the IO might assess your leadership quality.

Before answering these questions think about yourself, your qualities and personality. Be honest with the answers as the officer will definitely crosscheck them. Your leadership quality and ability to organize will be put to test by giving a situation which you should listen to carefully and respond accordingly.

  1. Solution Question

Questions regarding

  • World problems.
  • National problems
  • Solutions for the problems.

The officer will assess the knowledge you have not only about your country but around the globe as well.  They will check your knowledge on certain issues that are occurring around the globe and question you regarding them.   For instance, general knowledge issues such as human trafficking, terrorism and etc. It is best if you have some knowledge regarding topics like this, just to be on the safe side.

  1. Technical Questions And Application

The questions asked on this topic would depend on your post graduation or graduation subjects. The officer will ask you to put the knowledge into theory so that it will help with the day to day tasks in the armed force.

  1. Armed Force Question

You should have a vivid knowledge of the organization you would love to join, why you want to join and from when were your interested to join, as you will be questioned on these. In addition to this, it is better if you also know the history and the current news of the organization.
