• Colonel (Retired) Murali Govindakurup is an Indian Army Officer with over 29 years of service.

• Recently taken voluntary retirement from service.

• Vastly experienced on all types of terrain, with a mix of appointments on command and staff.

• Taken active part in various military operations including Operation Meghdoot ( Siachen Glacier), Operation Rakshak (Punjab & J&K) and Operation Vijay(Kargil).

• Commanded a Medium Artillery Regiment in the Valley( J & K) and Nasirabad ( Raj).

• Qualified on prestigious Long Gurney Staff Course at School of Artillery Devlali and Technical Staff Officer’s Course at Institute of Armament Technology, a deemed university under DRDO.

• A qualified Interviewing Officer, trained at the prestigious Defence Institute of Psychological Research, New Delhi. Had an extended tenure as an Interviewing Officer at a Services Selection Board. Conducted over 2000 live interviews and selected over 300 candidates as potential officers for commission to Army, Navy and Air Force.

• Held the onerous appointment of Director Recruiting, Army Recruiting Office, Kolhapur (Mah) looking after 8 districts of Maharashtra & Goa. Was responsible for recruiting eligible male candidates from these districts. Awarded the coveted Chief of Army Staff’s Commendation Card for outstanding performance during this tenure.
