Kolkata Film Festival is celebrated in Kolkata West Bengal
Kolkata Film Festival is an annual film festival conducted in Kolkata.
It is the 3rd oldest international film festival established in the year 1995.
West Bengal Film Centre organizes the award under the West Bengal Govt.
Importance of 26th Edition
- The 7-day festival will observe the tribute to two icons of Bengal Cinema – Satyajit Ray & Soumitra Chatterjee.
- Inaugurated by the CM Mamata Bannerjee.
Karnataka launched the Krishi Sanjeevini Vehicles to help farmers
Krishi Sanjeevini Vehicles are basically mobile agro clinic or laboratories which will offer farmers various range of free services like pest control, seed testing, soil testing, etc.
Now, farmers do not have to travel for such tests.

India to lead 3 significant committees of United Nations Security Council
India’s Permanent Representative to United Nation Mr. T S Tirumurthi has declared that India will be leading three significant committee of United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
India has recently begun its tenure of non-permanent member for two years 2021 & 2022. This is India’s 8th tenure.
The Committees are as follows:
- Counter Terrorism Committee
- Taliban Sanctions Committee
- Libya Sanctions Committee
Counter Terrorism Committee:
India during its 75th Independence anniversary year 2022, will be leading this committee. The primary function of the committee will be to restrict terrorist acts within their borders and across the regions.
Taliban Sanctions Committee:
This committee mainly focuses on the terrorist activities operated in Afghanistan and its nearby areas. This will definitely help India strengthen its relations with Afghanistan by infusing the democratic values and to contain Taliban within the region so that it cannot be utilized as a tool against India and other countries within the region.
Libya Sanctions Committee:
The committee focuses on sanctions, arms embargo, etc. on Libya. Also, to curb the illegal export of petroleum from Libya is on the to-do list of the committee.
Wipro signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an Israel based University
Tel Aviv University, an Israel based University, has signed a MoU with India based Multinational Company Wipro. University’s Center for Quantum Science & Technology faculty members will assist Wipro team and its customer.
Researchers and Scientists of University will develop potential research solutions by using quantum computing.
Quantum Computing is a technique used by quantum computers to store data and perform computation by using quantum physics.
What is a quantum computer?
- Quantum computers work by using the properties of quantum mechanics, a branch of Physics.
- Quantum computers use logical units called quantum bits, or qubits for short, that can be put into a quantum state where they can simultaneously represent binary numbers.

Andhra Pradesh Govt signed MoU with Cambridge University to English proficiency
The Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department of Andhra Pradesh Government has signed MoU with the University of Cambridge which will be offering training to teachers and students of state municipal schools so that the English Language proficiency of students and teachers improve.
- 12,378 teachers (Municipal schools) will be trained by the Cambridge representatives.
- Urban Development Department of Andhra Pradesh will provide the necessary infrastructure and funds for the training.
- The University will conduct 30-day training session under its Corporate Social Responsibility, teachers have to give an English test which would be assesses by the university after the training.

Telangana gets its first Female Chief Justice of High Court
Hima Kohli becomes the first Female Chief Justice of High Court of Telangana. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office to Justice Hima Kohli.
Article 217 of constitution allows the President to appoint Chief Justice of High Court after the consultation with CJI.
