Madhya Pradesh set to inaugurate World’s Largest Floating Solar Energy Project

 

World’s Largest Floating Solar Energy Power generation project is expected to be operationalized in the year 2022-23, at Omkareshwar Dam of district Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh.

  • It is a 600 Megawatt (MW) Project.
  • Floating Solar Photovoltaic Panels are installed in the backwaters of the reservoir.
  • Estimated cost of the project is 3000 crores.
  • International Finance Corporation, World Bank & Power grid will provide developmental funds of the project.

Khadi and Village Industries Commission will supply 1,72,000 Cotton Durries every year to Indo-Tibetan Border Police

 

A Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) that works under the aegis of Home Ministry will get a stock of 1,72,000 durries (Mats) from the Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC). The delivery that will cost ITBP a sum of Rs 8.74 Crores. After the completion of order the order will be renewed every year.

It plans, promotes, facilitates, organises and assists in the establishment and development of khadi and village industries so that the rural areas can get employment opportunities

Indo-Tibetan Border Police

After the 1962 Indo-China War, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was raised in October 1962 under the CRPF Act. It is one of the primary border patrol organization which generally operates along the border of Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

Funds for Reconstruction of Earthquake Affected Schools in Nepal

 

During the 2015 earthquake India has militarily, financially & morally supported Nepal in the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief. After more than 5 years also, India is keen to accompany the country to restore its national education system. India is providing Nepalese Rupee 30.66 Crore (Indian Rupees 19.21 Crores).

India also granted Indian National Rupee 2.76 crores to Nepal under a friendship agreement named Nepal-Bharat Maitri partnership.

PM flagged off World’s 1st Double Stack Container Train of 1.5 km long

 

World’s first Double Stack Container Train of 1.5 km long is flagged off by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The train was hauled by a newly inducted electric locomotive named WAG12. The train was operated between Atela (Haryana) & Kishangarh (Rajasthan). Containers were dedicatedly designed for the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) by the Research Design and Standard Organization (RDSO) wagon dept. The robust containers are capable of carrying 4 times weight as compared to the current wagons.

Along with this, a new Rewari-Madar Section of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) was also inaugurated by the PM. The 306 km long corridor will improve the connectivity between western ports of Gujarat & Maharashtra (Kandla, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, etc.) with the Northern Indian states. It will also ensure the connectivity between Eastern DFC & Western DFC. 

 

 

 

1st Govt sponsored Infrastructure Investment Fund set to operationalize

 

By March 2021, National Highways Authorities of India will operate India’s 1st Govt sponsored Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT).  The InvIT was approved by the Union Cabinet in December 2019. Multiple projects have been transferred to InvIT worth rupees 5000 crores.

It is referred as a Collective Investment Scheme in which individuals or institutions can invest money on a project and earn a small portion from the respective sum of their investment as return

GK Reddy to lead a committee to protect land, language & culture of Ladakh

 

A committee was set up by the Government of India (GoI) to protect the land, language and culture of Ladakh under the leadership of Minster of State G Kishan Reddy. Elected Representatives of Ladakh, members of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, ex-officio members of Ladakh Ladakh Administration (GoI) will be the members of the committee.

Ladakh was carved out from the state of Jammu & Kashmir under the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, and was given a status of a Union Territory. The Ladakh Union Territory comprises 2 districts, Leh & Kargil.
