15th G20 Summit

The 15th G20 Summit was organised on 22 November 2020. It focused on strategising the future by safeguarding the planet.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a new Global Index for the Post-Corona World. The four key elements of the index are

  • Ensuring technology reach to each corner
  • Transparency in the systems of governance
  • Sparking the spirit of trusteeship while Dealing with Mother Earth
  • Creating a vast Talent Pool

Scheme: Creation and Expansion of Food Processing and Preservation Capacities (CEFPPC)

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has approved 28 Food Processing Projects worth more than Rs 320 crore under the Scheme for Creation and Expansion of Food Processing and Preservation Capacities.


Organisations such as Central and State PSUs, Farmer Producers Organisation (FPOs), and Joint Ventures implement the scheme.


Its main objective is the modernisation of food processing units. Also, it focuses on the reduction of wastage.


Neutralising Antibodies


A study in Pune revealed that around 85% of the people have developed neutralising antibodies after getting infected with the novel coronavirus.

What are neutralising antibodies?

Neutralising antibodies are created to fight the disease. They are proteins. They are generated after the infection has occurred. They prevent the same virus from entering into the human body in the future.


Commencement of sailing activities with the Maiden IN-MDL Cup, National Yachting Championship


The Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre (INWTC), Mumbai is organising the beginning of sailing activities with the Maiden IN-MDL Cup, National Yachting Championship. It is going to be conducted under the aegis of the Yachting Association of India (YAI) for Senior Olympic classes.


It will be ranking event and will be from 22 November to 27 November near the Sunk Rock lighthouse. 12 sailing clubs from across India will participate in the IN-MDL Cup.




Fisheries Sector Award on World Fisheries Day


On World Fisheries Day, the Department of Fisheries fist time awarded the best performing States in the Fisheries Sector.


The best performing States for 2019-20 are Odisha amongst the Marine States, Uttar Pradesh amongst Inland states and Assam amongst Hilly and NE states.

The best districts are Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, Kalahandi, Odisha, Nagaon, and Assam.


The objective of the award system was to promote healthy competition among States.


Foundation stone of rural drinking water supply projects in Uttar Pradesh


On November 22, Shri Narendra Modi has laid the foundation of rural drinking water supply projects in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts of Vindhyachal region of Uttar Pradesh via video conference.


The objective of the projects is to provide household tap water connections to all rural households of 2,995 villages benefiting 42 lakh population.

Jal Jeevan Mission

Under Jal Jeevan Mission, more than 26 lakh families have been benefited with the piped drinking water connection in Uttar Pradesh. It aims to improve the health of children and women. Moreover, irrigation issues will also be resolved.
