PM Modi unveils Statue of Peace in Rajasthan
PM Narendra Modi has unveiled the Statue of Peace in Rajasthan.
The setup is to mark the 151st Birth Anniversary celebrations of Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj. The statue is 151 inches tall and made up of Ashtadhatu and 8 metals with the primary component of copper.
About Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj:
He was the saint lived during 1870-1954 while dedicatedly spreading the message of Lord Mahavira. He also spread education, wrote inspiring literature, and supported the freedom movement.
National Epilepsy Day 2020
The National Epilepsy Day is celebrated on 7th November to create awareness about Epilepsy, causes, symptoms, and treatments. The Epilepsy Foundation of India observes it.
About Epilepsy Day:
Dr Nirmal Surya established Epilepsy Foundation of India in the Mumbai, Maharashtra in 2009. It is a non-profitable charitable organisation.
The Epilepsy is a set of persistent neurological disarray. It causes sudden fits. It results due to the extreme activities in the brain. According to the WHO, over 50 million people have epilepsy.
Its causes are related to the brain like head injury, brain tumour, brain infections, and restricted supply of oxygen to the mind.
Its symptoms include the loss of consciousness, confusing state, anxiety, and uncontrolled movements of the arms and legs.
Treatment of Epilepsy includes medications or surgery and controlling the seizures. Some children may outgrow the disorder with age.
Ariel Space Mission adopted by the European Space Agency
The European Space Agency has adopted the Aerial Space Mission.
Aerial is the atmospheric remote sensing infrared exoplanet large survey that will be launched in 2029. It will perform a study for over 4 years.
Only a few exoplanets have been found by using telescopes and indirect methods like tracking the dimming of a star and gravitational lensing. The search for exoplanets drives the possibility of life existing beyond Earth. Till now there is a confirmation of the existence of more than 4000 exoplanets and many others need further observations.
The closest exoplanet to Earth is Proxima Centauri B. It inhabits the habitable zone of its star, which means it could have liquid water.
Kerala Fibre Optic Network Project
Kerala targets to provide free internet to every public office and low-income families by December.
About the Project:
Kerala Fibre Optic Network Project aims to fulfil the government’s decision of providing high-speed Internet services to more than 20 lakh below poverty line households as the right of a citizen.
It is an initiative by the Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd. and the state’s power utility Kerala State Electricity Board.
“Kadalu App” for fishermen in Udupi launched by Coastal Security Police
Karnataka’s Minister for Fisheries, Inland Transport Department and Mujrai, Kota Srinivasa Poojary launched the “Kadula App” at the fishing awareness program held in krishnapur, near Udupi.
About the App:
Coastal Security Police for the Department of Fisheries, Government of Karnataka developed the app.
The app is to support and help the fishermen. The fishermen will be submitting the information about their arrival and departure through their mobile phones. Thus, the data will help the Coastal Security Police to keep the record on the number of fishing boats in the deep sea and operate rescue operations.
Under the app, there are more than 1200 fishing boats in Mangalore harbour and 2000 fishing boats in Udupi.
“Vastsalya Yojna” and “Samarth Yojana” launched during the Child Rights Week in Rajasthan from November 14-20 2020
There has been the child rights week from November 14 to 20, 2020. Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan Chief Minister, inaugurated virtually. The initiative includes the skill development activities, new welfare schemes, and awareness programmes taken from the Nehru Child Protection Fund.
The Rajasthan government aims to prevent crimes against children.
Launching of two new schemes:
The CM has launched Vastsalya Yojna and Samarth Yojana. He has also inaugurated the skill development and counselling centre in Jodhpur for children.
Announcement for the first sponsors for 2021 UN Climate Change Conference
The UK Government has announced SSE, NatWest Group, Scottish Power, and National Grid Adam as the first Principal Partners for the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference. They will be the top tier of sponsorship.
About the Conference:
The conference is also known as COP26. It is the 26th United Nations climate change conference. It will take place on November 1-12, 2021 at SEC Centre, Glasgow, Scotland (UK). The UK and Italy will jointly organise it.
Asia’s First Solar Power-enabled Textile Mill will be at Parbhani, Maharashtra
Jai Bhawani women’s cooperative textile mill will be set up at Parbhani, Maharashtra. It will operate on Solar Power.
The mill is spread across 30 acres of land. It will process cotton to the cloth. It will provide jobs to the women. All processes including Spinning, Weaving, Ginning, and Pressing will be done in the mill. Its setup is at the cost of INR 100 Crores.

China’s Railway work near Arunachal Border
Chennai started working on the significant railway line. It is going to link Sichuan province with Nyingchi in Tibet, close to the Arunachal Pradesh border.
It is the second route linking Tibet Autonomous Region with mainland China. It will improve the efficiency of China’s military personnel and transportation in the border. Its most advantage will be to China, but it will have ecological concerns for India.
