Second phase of Malabar Exercise

          The QUAD members, USA, Japan,Australia and India  will start the second Phase of MALABAR NAVAL from Tuesday in the Arabian Sea. The exercise will see twoaircraft carrier battle groups with India fielding its lone Aircraft carrier INS VIKRAMADITYA alongwith ita Mig-29K fighter jets. The USS NIMITZ, a nuclear powered carrier of the USA will be a part of this naval manoeuvres.

The entire event is designed to send a strong message to “Expansionist China” by safeguarding the “ International Rule based Order.  The first phase of the exercise was held in the Bay of Bengal with a clear strategic show of intent. The QUAD countries revival after a gap of 13 years displays high levels of synergy between the member nations.

 

 

BRICS SUMMIT

            PM Modi will attend the 12th BRICS Summt on November 17th to be hosteed by Russia. The theme is “GLOBAL STABILITY, SHARED SECURITY & INNOVATIVE GROWTH”. The meeting is being held in the virtual form and the seventh time that PM Modi will attend since 2014.

            The summt being held against the backdrop of the global pandemic will focus on intra-BRICS cooperation in counter-terrorism, trade, health energy & people exchanges.

BREXIT : Britain’s choices

            Britain has to make to make certain tough choices to negotiate a trade deal post BREXIT. The issues of level playing field, governance and fisheries are pending due to delay on Britain’s decision which is due over the next ten days failing which tariffs and QUOTAs will be enforced disrupting an estimated trillion dollars worth of annual commerce.

 

 

NATIONAL PRESS DAY

            The PM while felicitating the MEDIA on National Press Day lauded their invaluable contribution towards strengthening the democratic process. The MEDIA is a valued stakeholder of the ruling dispensation and the Government and has contributed immensely in creating awareness in the population and in transforming behavioural patterns for the common good of the nation.

 

 

Pak Firing on LoC

            Pakistan esorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC in Kashmir on 13 November in the Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora districts. Surprisingly, PAK has started using High Caliber Weapons and heavy arty shelling in an attempt to cause disruptions. The BSF warns that an infiltration attempt by a large group of militants is imminent.
