The Indian naval forces considered as one of the most honorable regiments enables eligible candidates to join them via a sports quota entry procedure. Candidates who has been winners in International / Junior or Senior National Championship / Senior State Championship/ All India Inter-University Championship in Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Squash, Best Physique, Fencing, Golf, Tennis, Kayaking & Canoeing, Rowing, Shooting, Sailing & Wind Surfing can choose to be a segment of the Indian Naval forces by applying through the quota.

Eligibility criteria:

Direct entry Petty officer:

The person should first and foremost be a pass out with 10+2 level examination certificate.

In team games, they should have participated in Junior or senior level in national or international category tournaments where they have represented their University.

In individual tournaments, they should have achieved the 6th position in senior-level or at least the 3rd position in junior level tournaments where they have represented their university.

Age limit- candidates born within 01 Aug 1997 to 31 Jul 2002 with age in between 17-22 are eligible for the post.

Matric Recruits- 10th level board examinations.

The individual should have participated in international, national, or state-level tournaments.

Age limit- candidates born within 01 Oct 1998 to 30 Sep 2002 in between the age limit of 17-21 are eligible for this post.

Stipend for the post-

Throughout the initial training period, the candidate will be receiving the stipend of Rs 14600. Next, after completing the training period, they will be sent for third level defense pay matrix along with which they will be getting MSP of Rs 5200 along with DA.

Selection criteria-

The chosen candidates will be asked to sit for the trials where physical examinations and fitness tests will be assigned to them. The qualifying candidates will be sent to go through medical examination processes in INS Hamla, Mumbai. The final selected will be done by evaluating the performances of the candidates and on the number of vacancies available.

  • Firstly the application form is to be downloaded from It is to be submitted in an A4 sized paper, and one application form will be presented by a single candidate. If anybody is caught submitting two or more applications, they will be discarded.
  • The envelope in which the form will be sent has been to be brown in color, and the specification depicting the individual’s appeal via sports quota should be mentioned above. The type of entry, along with sports discipline and the individual’s achievements, should be mentioned.
  • In the application, a list of documents will be asked to be submitted along with the application. The required number of copies of those documents should be punched and tied tightly with the application.
  • The candidate is supposed to submit one recent colored photograph along with the application form. In the picture, the background should be blue and or no other color strictly. The photographs should be legitimate and not computer derived, or even pixelated pictures will be discarded as well.
