India refuses to take part in multinational activities with China

In the light of the increasing COVID-19 situation in the nation, India has informed Russia about its decision to not take part in Kavkaz 2020. However, the presence of Chinese and Pakistani troops in the activity could also hold valuable significance behind the decision. After the Galwan clash, India has taken full-fledged measures to cut ties with China. French defence minister expected to visit India to attend Rafale induction ceremony

French defence minister, Florence Parly, is likely to visit India to formally induct the five Rafale jets into the Indian Air Force (IAF), and to hold discussions with Rajnath Singh in order to strengthen the ties between the two countries. The first batch of five Rafale combat jets, manufactured by French aerospace major Dassault Aviation, had arrived at the Ambala airbase on July 29, and are yet to be formally inducted into the IAF. The ceremony is scheduled to be on September 10.



Indian military and government faces repeated threats from Transparent Tribe

Transparent Tribe, active since 2013, specializes in cyber espionage of critical sectors including government departments, as well as military and defence. Indian military and government personnel are reportedly facing the threat of spear phishing and advanced cyber snooping tactics from the noted cyber espionage and crime collective. NIA Arrests LeT Terrorist Linked to 2007 Glasgow Airport Attack

Shabeel Ahmed, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist closely related to the Glasgow Airport Attack has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), after being brought to India from Saudi Arabia. Ahmed was also wanted in a case registered by the Delhi Police Special Cell in 2015 and was declared a proclaimed offender by a Delhi court on July 12, 2016. He will be produced before a court later in Delhi.


INS Viraat to be dismantled in Gujarat

INS Viraat, the aircraft carrier that served the Indian Navy for 30 years, is to be towed from Mumbai to Alang in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district, to be dismantled in the country’s first certified eco-friendly ship recycling yard in the time period 9 to 12 months and sold as scrap. The warship inducted in the Indian Navy in the year 1987, is bought by the Shree Ram Group for Rs 38.54 crore at an auction conducted by the Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited last month.
