Chinese Foreign Minister points at the lack of demarcated border between India and China
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi blames the undefined border between the two countries due to which these conflicts are inevitable. The diplomatic talks delivered during an interaction at the French Institute of International Relations in Paris conceal the fact that PLA had unilaterally tried to change the status quo of the much-disputed land. He highlights that China is ready to settle disputes over discussion, although nothing good came out of those in the last two and a half months.
The Special Frontier Force rumoured to be deployed by India to shoo off PLA
The Special Frontier Force is rumoured to have been deployed by India to cast off PLA over the Pangong lake confrontation. Considered as one of the most mysterious forces of India, the Special Frontier Force is termed as an armed unit as it falls under the Cabinet Secretariat reporting to the Prime Minister, and not a part of the Indian Army. Originated during the disaster of the 1962 war with China, the unit has played a role in most major Indian conflicts, including the 1971 Bangladesh liberation war, Operation Blue Star and the capture of Siachen Glacier (both in 1984) and the Kargil War (1999).
The first woman head of the CRPF’s Srinagar sector: IPS Charu Sinha
CRPF Srinagar sector, one of the most terrorist affected areas, will now be headed by a woman for the first time. IPS Charu Sinha is appointed to be the Inspector General (IG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Sinha is accustomed to such position of power, as she has worked as IG, the Bihar sector in CRPF and has dealt with Naxals and headed various anti-Naxal projects. She will be heading all the operations involved in the Srinagar sector.
India criticizes the lack of progress in IGN sessions
India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador K Nagaraj Naidu, on Monday wrote a letter to President of the 74th Session of the General Assembly, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, expressing New Delhi’s strong disappointment over the decision regarding roll-over of the inter-governmental negotiations (IGN) on UNSC reforms into the next session of the General Assembly that begins this month. He also expresses that the draft roll-over fails to capture the lack of progress made by the IGN, its informality and that the IGN process has become a convenient smokescreen to hide behind for those who do not wish to see any reform in the Security Council, Mr. Naidu blatantly remarks in his letter.
