  • Rajnath Singh urges navy to focus on armaments after ship design

Defence Minister launches Indian Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (INIIO) after noting the significant progress made by the navy and further involving them in the indigenization production of armaments.

The navy that had been self-reliant and involved in manufacturing every type of ship and submarines, including nuclear submarines, are now to be handling the “fight” component and meet the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

 


  • Preparedness of IAF reviewed by Air Chief Marshal

Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria tests a Mig 21 Bison jet at a frontline airbase in the Western Command, reportedly providing a thorough review of operational preparedness of the air warriors in the region.

The Indian Air Force is highly prepared in the Western command after several months of heavy air between India and China. The IAF has employed almost all its frontline fighter jets, for instance, Sukhoi 30 MKI, Jaguar and Mirage 2000 aircraft in the key frontier air bases in eastern Ladakh and elsewhere along the LAC.


 


  • ISRO shuts two more units leading to more job loss

Operations at two critical infrastructure facilities, handling the ambitious GSLV Mk-3 and Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) projects were terminated at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) due to the spread of COVID-19. Contract employees, who already are facing financial troubles, are at risk of suffering if the projects are suspended. Many operations had to be kept on hold due to lack of staff, and it has been reported that several contract firms working for Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have not paid salary to employees since May.

 


  • Indian envoy to China to discuss LAC tensions

Indian Embassy in China tweets to reveal that Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri, met H.E. Liu Jianchao, Deputy Director of the Office of the CPC Central Committee Foreign Affairs Commission to clear the air regarding the tensions in Ladakh, and over all bilateral relations.

There has been no significant change in the border area as Chinese troops continue to occupy areas near Pangong Tso, and block Indian patrols in the Depsang Plains. Misri was reportedly told to stop constructing in the eastern Ladakh and to move Chinese troops back.

 

Pakistani submarine identified with Chinese navy

An Agosta-90B type submarine, only used by Pakistan, has been witnessed with Chinese navy in Karachi, via satellite image. It is widely known that China and Pakistan have strong defence ties and the image could possibly mean an exchange of knowledge as well as hardware.
