LCA-LIFT: New name of LCA-SpORT

 

Keeping with international conventions, LCA-LIFT has been the new name of the Supersonic Omni Role Trainer (SpORT) Aircraft built on the Light Combat Aircraft  Twin-seater Trainer Platform. It is a proposed lead-in-fighter trainer (LIFT) and the program is confirmed as the full-fledged separate program now. The purpose of LCA is to help pilots of modern aircraft like the Rafales and SU-30 MKi.  IAF has approved it and likely to place an order of 40+ jets.

HAL wants to develop LCA-TejEx also for the export market after LCA-LIFT program. It will be including Russian and Western weapons and Indian Technology.

 

ISRO to launch the first satellite from Sriharikota this year

 

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is going to launch the first satellite of this year on November 6 from Sriharikota. Launching will be at the time of lifting off the PSLV-C49 rocket along with a surveillance satellite Risat-2BR2 and 10 foreign commercial satellites.

ISRO is also targeting the launching of PSLV-C50 mission after the PSLV-C49 mission.


 


 

NISAR to be launched by 2022 as US-India yet want to continue space dialogue

 

NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite is likely to be launched by 2022. It is so because the US and India want to hold discussions on regions of potential space defence cooperation, continue India-US space dialogue, and decided to share space situational awareness information.

Ministry of Earth Sciences and US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration agreed to sign the memorandum of understanding (MoU) for technical cooperation in Earth sciences and Earth observation.

 

2+2 dialogue on asking Pakistan for immediate action on terrorism

 

After the 2+2 meeting, both sides- India and the United States (Rajnath Singh, S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Michael Bombay and Defence Secretary Mark Esper) are asking Pakistan not to let its territory become the terrorists’ platform.

The ministers commit a shared vision for Indo-Pacific and global leadership. The ministers are ready to work together at India’s non-permanent membership of the UNSC. They welcome the Australian Navy in the US-India-Japan MALABAR Naval exercise. They will be working in close cooperation for defence industries. Strengthening bilateral India-US cooperation and India-US civil nuclear agreement also come under its efforts. There is a laudable welcome of ISRO-NASA collaboration too.

 

 

Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park to lighten up India-Pak border areas in Rajasthan

 

Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park by Solar Energy Corporation of India and National Thermal Power Corporation will soon be illuminating India-Pak border areas in Rajasthan with renewable energy. It will be of 8000 megawatts (MW) capacity. The work is in progress.

The park construction will dwindle the cost of annual expenditure on supplying power by one-third of the present cost.

Also, the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) will be having separate MoU for the Gol Mega power park project. The proposal of solar power parks enough to generate 10000 MW green energy has also been approved.

 

A webinar of India and UAE to boost defence exports

 

On 28 October 2020, a webinar between India and UAE was held to boost defence exports. The theme was “Indian Defence Industry Global Outreach for Collaborative Partnership: Webinar and Expo India-UAE Defence Cooperation.” There was a talk on relations between two countries and about the cooperation in defence for mutual trade and joint production.
