AMCA showing major changes after final design revisions

Final design revisions and changes are to be implemented in the development and manufacturing process of India’s 5.5th generation AMCA fighter jet. But before there needs a confirmation at the upcoming Air India 2021. The changes have great differences from the previously showcased official design. The jet is stepping into the final stages to secure official funding for phase 1 of the program.

The changes include in the forward-swept intake cowl, the smooth hump blended surface large, and large horizontal tails for low wave drag. Moreover, there is a move in engine position and main landing gear. Overall, the design of the AMCA has been improved.


India and Nepal: Reason of resuming foreign secretary-level dialogue

Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane is travelling to Nepal this week to meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on 5th of November. The meeting can be the factor to resume foreign secretary-level dialogue. Even for the last few months, the two countries are trying to revive their ties. PM Oli removed Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel who is seen as the consistent critic of India.

Resumption of foreign secretary-level dialogue depends on the successful meeting of MM Naravane and KP Sharma Oli this week.


Robert Kibochi, CDF Kenya on the week-long visit to India to cement bilateral ties

Chief of Defence forces, General Robert Kibochi of Kenya is visiting India from 2 November to 6 November 2020 on the invitation by the MoD. He will depart on 7 November. Kenya is visiting outside Africa in India, the first country.  Robert Kibochi will also visit Bengaluru, Agra, and Mhow. The visit will strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and Kenya.

Defence Cooperation areas include Counterterrorism, Capacity and Capability, building Medical Health care, UN peacekeeping operations, and Cybersecurity.

Media Registration for Aero India 2021 starts

Registration for media personnel to visit the exhibition to be held on 3 to 7 February 2021 has started on 2 November 2020. The registration will close on the 6th of December. Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru (Karnataka) will be the venue for the 13th edition of Aero India 2021. The event will include the major trade exhibition of the aerospace and defence industries. It would empower Make in India campaigns too.

The participation will be from the global leaders,  investors, and think tanks.


24th edition of the MALABAR Naval exercise; Phase 1: 3 to 6 November

The 24th edition of the MALABAR naval exercise has been scheduled in two phases in which the first one is going to start from 3 to 6 November 2020. Indian Navy, Japan Maritime Self defence Force, United States Navy and the Royal Australian Navy will participate. The 2020 edition of Malabar exercise will witness the participation of the RAN.

Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan will lead the Indian Navy participation.


IAF’s three fighter jets flying non-stop from France to reach on November 4

3 Rafale fighter jets of the Indian Air Force are flying non-stop from Istres in France to Jamnagar and have been scheduled to reach on November 4. French Air Force mid-air refuelling aircraft will accompany them. These 3 Rafale fighter jets will take the number to 8 of the 36 Rafale jets in service.

Delivery of all 36 aircraft will be done by 2021-end as per the schedule.

The first batch of 5 Rafale jets was inducted into the No.17 ‘Golden Arrows’ squadron at Ambala Air Force Station in July.
