- The black box of the Air India Express flight recovered
The needed black box of the Air India Express flight will help the officials understand how the plane overshot the runway and crashed. As of now, 18 people have lost their lives in the mishap while several passengers are severely injured.
The flight came from Dubai to Kozhikode Airport, with 190 passengers in it. It crashed while landing in heavy rains and fell into a valley 35 feet deep.

Ambani has started to shift his focus towards e-commerce as tech giants are planning to get involved in India’s fast-growing digital business. Last month Google announced that it would spend $10 billion in the upcoming years to help enhance the digital technologies in India.
- India has lost 196 doctors to COVID-19
196 doctors in India, most of them were general practitioners, have lost their lives in the COVID-19 pandemic, as said by the IMA (Indian Medical Association).
Out of those 196 doctors, 170 of them were of age above 50-years. IMA also said that around 86% of the doctors were in the vulnerable age category. While Tamil Nadu has the highest number of doctors’ deaths, Delhi has lost 12 doctors to COVID-19.
- WHO chief scientist gave a warning against ‘vaccine nationalism.’
At present, there are more than 200 COVID-19 vaccine candidates in the development phase, and around 27 of them are on clinical trials around the world. Soumya Swaminathan, the WHO Chief Scientist, raised the need to have a global approach for the deployment and distribution of the vaccine.
She used the term ‘vaccine nationalism’ to state the fact that many countries are focusing on their own population. She said the virus has spread across the world, and providing vaccines to limited people won’t help in such a situation.
- Sikh men assaulted in Barwani in Madhya Pradesh
A probe into the assault of two Sikh men started on Saturday under the Indore Zone Inspector General of Police, Vivek Sharma. The incident happened on Thursday in Rajput tehsil after a heated argument between the Prem Singh’s family and the police over setting up a stall in the area.
A viral video showed Prem Singh being dragged through his hair by the police in a public area. A turbaned man came to save Singh, but another policeman pushed him away.
The state government has suspended Sitaram Bhatnagar and Mohan Jamre, who were involved in this matter for allegedly not following the proper procedure while detaining the two men.
- Delhi to receive heavy rains for four days
Delhi is likely to receive moderate to heavy rains for four days, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. The head of IMD, Kuldeep Srivastava, said that monsoon will now shift northward and stay close to the Delhi-NCR region for four days.
In addition to that, the eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Haryana, north Punjab, Uttarakhand as well as Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rainfall.

The Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Water Resources tested positive for COVID-19 and is now admitted to AIIMS Delhi. He tweeted that he got himself tested after getting the initial symptoms.
Arjun Meghwal was trending a few days back as he launched ‘Bhabhi ji papad’ and claimed that it would help drive away the coronavirus.
