GST revenues jumped over Rs 95000 crore in September
In September, revenue collection from goods and services tax that is rupees 95480 crores, 10% higher than August and 4% higher than of the same month in a year ago, highlights that financial activity has sped up its recovery in the lockdown restrictions of COVID-19 pandemic too.
In Rs 95480 crores of the gross GST revenue, Central GST rupees 17741 crores integrated GST is Rs 47484 crore, State GST is Rs 23131 crore, and Cess is Rs 7124 crore. Revenues from import of goods at 100% and revenue including import of services and domestic transactions were at 105% in September 2019.
Comparing to the last year, Rajasthan with 17% and Tamilnadu with 15% have demonstrated the highest growth in GST.
National Butterfly Camping
Selecting a national butterfly, the national butterfly campaign has registered almost half a lakh people joining it from across the country. The public poll is going to continue till October. The focus is on the charming scaly winged insects which can enhance biodiversity. Butterflies are good indicators of healthy ecosystems. Also, scientists emphasized that butterflies form a vital link between the food and life chain as they are prey for birds and insects and also play their role well in pollination.
India has not yet designated a national butterfly where several other countries including Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Taiwan have National butterflies.
Mega Food Park in Kerala: Inauguration ceremony on 1st October
Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister of Kerala Mr Pinarayi Vijayan virtually inaugurated Mega Food Park in Palakkad district of Kerala. KINFRA mega Food park has been set up at the project cost of Rs 102.13 crores in 7 9.42 acres of land.
It is projected that this development will result in an additional investment of about Rs 250 crores in 25-30 food processing units in the park. Hence, it would lead to a turnover of about Rs 450 to 500 crore annually. It will also improve employment opportunities for 5,000 individuals along with benefiting 25,000 farmers in the PPC and CPC catchment areas. It is under the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat mission. Also, the centre has launched the PM formalisation of micro food processing Enterprises Scheme.
India at UN biodiversity Summit: Action to conserve biodiversity
Union Minister for environment forest and climate change Shri Prakash javadekar represented India at the United Nations biodiversity summit on the 75th anniversary of the UN General assembly. They have raised the urgent need of action to conserve biodiversity.
It is also informed that the enhancement of the combined forest and tree cover 224 points 56% has been seen. India has the highest number of tigers and has recently launched the project lion and project dolphin.
Virtual summit ‘Responsible AI for social empowerment 2020’ to be on October 5
From October 5-9, NITI Aayog and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is going to organise a global digital summit on Artificial Intelligence named RAISE 2020- ‘Responsible AI for social empowerment 2020’. Prakash Raj Reddy will discuss helping voice-enabled to remove linguistic barriers. The session is very strategic about who, when, and where will hold which session.
More than 15000 stakeholders were registered to participate in Raise in 2020.
Tamilnadu and Arunachal Pradesh integrated with National Portability cluster under One nation One Ration Card Scheme
Tamilnadu and Arunachal Pradesh were integrated on 1 October 2020 with the existing National portability cluster of 26 States. It is under the scheme of One Nation One Ration Card. 28 states are already connected with each other under it. The beneficiaries of the states are able to lift their food grains under NFSA from any fair price shop enabled by EPOS.
Tribes Indiae-marketplace and 2 new tribes India outlets in Kolkata and Rishikesh launched
The initiative of transforming tribal lives and livelihoods with India’s largest handicraft and organic products marketplace ‘the tribes India e-marketplace’ has virtually launched. Several other initiatives have also been launched including India’s 123rd and 124th outlets in Rishikesh and Kolkata. Also, there is a collection of 100% pure Pakur honey made from pollen and nectar on a sustainable basis by the local youth.
New product ranges from Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh in the tribes India product line has also been added. Tribes India has also joined Amazon Seller Flex Program.
“Shramdan” organised by department of justice to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti 2nd October 2020, “Shramdan” driver has been organised in the department of justice Government of India New Delhi. The officers and staff of the department participated in the cleanliness of the office premises. Online essay competition and painting competitions were organised.
Celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas, 2020
On 2nd October 2020, the Swachh Bharat Divas was celebrated on the same day of Gandhi jayanti. Swachh Bharat Puraskars were distributed by Minister of Jal Shakti to the best performing districts, states, blocks, and GPs at the ritual ceremony. Top awards were conferred upon Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and others. All the states of SBM teams made a significant contribution in phase 1.
More than 24.4 students participated in the Gandagi Mukt Bharat painting and essay competition.
