  • The second session serosurveys will be initiated in Delhi.

The second batch of sero-survey began from Saturday in Delhi, where blood samples of random people will be collected to check if they are developing antibodies to fight against the coronavirus. The survey was initiated in five different districts in Delhi, and today it will be starting in the remaining six districts as well.

The previous session of ser-survey started from June 27 in which around 22,000 samples were collected and tested, which showed around 23.4% of the population were developing antibodies.


  • Private labs in Odisha got permission to conduct COVID testing.

The Odisha government gave permission to the private labs and hospitals, along with nursing homes, to conduct rapid antigen tests and RT-PCR methods. Previously this was only done by government hospitals and authorities but now to amplify the process and help people recover in a better way.

  • Containment zones in Bengaluru stand around 20,000.

The COVID 19 crisis increases as days pass by, and Bengaluru seems to fall under the crisis badly. The number of containment zones in Bengaluru stands now at 21,836, with 13,494 active containment zones till Saturday. The South Zone consists of the highest number of containment zones, which is 4,100, whereas the Dasarahalli zone has the lowest number around 363.


  • The couple attempted suicide due to harassment after recovering from COVID 19.

A couple in Anantapur after recovering from COVID 19 were discharged from Narayana College COVID 19 care. They killed themselves on Sunday after being harassed by their neighbors. The man’s mother lost her life due to COVID 19, and after that, he and his wife were also tested positive. The process of stigmatization seems to be more lethal than the virus itself, which was enough to push two people to end their life.


 


  • Bihar flood took the lives of two more individuals.

The situations in Bihar worsen as flood worsens. Around 50 lakh people are affected severely due to the flood, and 13 individuals lost their lives as well. The number of affected panchayats also increased up to 1043 from 1012 on Saturday. The average rainfall this year increased the normal parameters, which caused a flood in many districts of Bihar. Other rivers are also flowing above the danger levels, which are creating a huge risk for places like Kosi, Budhi Gandak, Kamla, Bagmati, and Adhwar as well.


  • Home minister tested positive of coronavirus.

Home minister Amit Shah tested positive for COVID 19 and is admitted to Mednata hospital in Gurugram. Since he possesses multiple other comorbidities, he was admitted to a hospital for being more vulnerable to the virus. In a tweet, Shah requested everyone who came in contact with him to test for coronavirus and to stay safe.


  • Tamil Nadu opposed the NEP says it is imposing Hindi and Sanskrit on a state with a different mother tongue.

The National Education Policy brought about by the government said Hindi and Sanskrit should be mandatorily taught in schools. Tamil Nadu opposed this decision saying it is nothing but a glossy coat is put on the old oppressive Manusmriti.

Union Minister of Education Mr. Nishank told them that this is not how things will roll, and the NEP will not impose any language on any state.

Amar Singh, after having a kidney transplant operation in 2011, was not doing well for a long time. He died on Saturday in Singapore after being sick for a long period of time.
